Epson new 'Enhanced' 4k HDR Home Cinema, offers UHD and And HDR support

Epson has confirmed a UK release for its upcoming line of 4K ‘enhanced’ home cinema projectors, setting new low price points for the technology. The EH-TW7300, EH-TW9300 (pictured above) and EH-TW9300W all offer support for HDR content with a wide colour gamut able to cover sRGB and DCI colour spaces.

The EH-TW7300, and its wireless HDMI stablemate the EH-TW9300W), claim a dynamic contrast of 1,000,000:1, with 2,500 lumens brightness, and use a new 16-piece glass lens. The EH-TW7300 is rated at 160,000:1 dynamic contrast and 2,300 lumens brightness.

None of the models are native 4K, but use a 4K upscaling technology comparable to JVC’s e-shift optical technique, which delivers a 2160p onscreen image. Picture processing modes include frame interpolation and detail enhancement. Connectivity includes two HDMI inputs (one of which is HDCP 2.2 compliant for use with 4K Blu-ray players), with RS232c control and a 12v trigger.

When used in Eco mode, the brand declares ‘a user can watch a film every day on the big screen for the next seven years’ before a lamp replacement is due.

To ease installation, the line feature a powered 2.1x optical zoom, powered focus and a new powered lens shift of ±96.3 per vertical and ±47.1 per cent horizontal. The projectors are capable of storing up to ten different lens memory positions for variable aspect ratio displays.

The EH-TW9300W WirelessHD projector uses a WiHD transmitter, with four HDMI inputs, to stream UHD content when a cable run is not possible.
